Bruno Gigliotti,  better known as Orlando, is the brother and producer of Dalida.
As a teenager in Egypt, he remembers that he had a brief singing career himself, in fact he was the one who released the well-known 60s hit "Mustapha", which was covered sometime later by Bob Azzam.

In the mid-sixties he left for Paris with the idea of pursuing his musical career just as his legendary sister who had become an illustrious STAR.

However very soon he realised that his true vocation was not to be in front of the microphone, but instead to be behind the scenes promoting the talents of others.
He had the utmost adoration for his sister and secretly dreamed of taking charge of her career.

By the end of the 1960s, he gave up singing altogether and joined Barclay to become  Dalida's Artistic Director and at the same time to learn about the music business. He picked things up so quickly that in 1970, with his sister's agreement, he decided to start his own label, becoming in the process the first independent showbiz producer.
From this moment on, he set about changing Dalida's artistic direction, having great ideas for hits.
In fact, through Dalida it was Orlando who introduced the Disco era to France, he released the first music video, he was also the one who brought Raï to the wider public and produced the first Medley, it was he who brought Dalida to the Palais des sports making her the first woman to play there and have a resounding success.

Orlando very quickly proved that he was not only the producer and younger brother of Dalida, but also moreover a discoverer of talent, offering his knowledge and experience to such rising stars as:
"Shake, Frédéric Chateau, Melody, Les vagabons, Indra" and more recently Hélène Segara.
At a time when independent producers have virtually disappeared, swallowed up by the multi-nationals, there is still one who has lasted the course.
A very shrewd media personality, his sense of humour and party spirit have made him a real leader in Paris society.
It was Dalida who introduced Orlando to Montmartre, and he has since become a key member of its community and inhabitants.

On 24th April 1997, "DALIDA Square" was inaugurated thanks to his efforts, when he provided the neighbourhood with a bronze statue of his sister which features there. He gave his permission in 1998 for a limited-edition Montmartre wine to be produced, "Cuvée DALIDA" which proved to be a sell-out success.

Dalida's glory and accomplishments are largely attributable to Orlando's input. He knew her better than anyone else and through sheer hard work, pati
ence and listening, but also a whole lot of love, made her into a true MYTH of our times.
